Amelia Newcomb: The USDF Young Horse Program

Amelia Newcomb of Amelia Newcomb Dressage participates in the USDF Young Horse Program on her string of young horses. Here she shares some insight on the program:

There are different dressage tests for the four-year-olds, five-year-olds and six-year-olds, as well as a Developing Prix St. Georges test for seven to nine-year-olds. The Developing Prix St. Georges can qualify a horse and rider to the Markel/USEF Young & Developing Horse Championship in Chicago, which many US-based dressage riders strive to attend. The U.S. Dressage Festival of Champions is held concurrently with the young horse championships and is the main attraction for the dressage riders and spectators! We hope to see both of Amelia's youngsters Harvey and Gatsby mastering the Developing PSG in Chicago this year!
