Sarah Lockman has been riding horses since before she could walk on her own two feet. She is a graduate B Pony Clubber and competed through the Intermediate level in eventing, impressively finishing third at her first CCI*** when she was just 15 years old. In 2004, Sarah shifted her focus, solely training and competing in dressage. She regularly participates in many different clinics and rides with top trainers including Judy Harvey, Bert Rutten, Debbie McDonald, and Guenter Seidel.
Sarah has taught many riders and horses from Training level all the way to Grand Prix. In 2016 she had over 15 pairs of horse and rider combinations qualified for CDS/USDF Championships. For many years she had a large amateur client base and the largest sales program in Southern California. But in 2018, Sarah was offered a prestigious lead rider position at Summit Farm in Murrieta, California.
Sarah now trains and competes on high performance dressage horses and pioneers the imported dressage sales program. No longer managing a large business of amateur clients she is able to dedicate her time to her competition mounts exclusively representing Summit Farm.
Sarah is currently coached by Scott Hassler and has a string of competition mounts ranging from four to eight years old, including her newest FEI partner, Summit Farm's, First Apple. First Apple and Sarah broke out the 2019 season with an impressive 78% at the I-1 just a month into their partnership. Sarah also looks forward to competing in the small tour with Summit Farm’s Balia, as well as Jupiter in the FEI 5 Year Old. Team Summit Farm and Sarah Lockman aspire to be a part of the United States Equestrian Team in the coming years for the Pan Ams, World Cup, and Olympic Games.
